Lakes Region Community College offers certificates and associate’s degrees and is part of the New Hampshire community college system. Programs include, but are not limited to: Fire Technology, Marine Technology, Industrial Construction Wiring, and Medical Transcription.
What makes the school stand out is its distinct academic curriculum. It has one of the most in-depth programs in Restaurant Management. Students gain knowledge of catering, banquet and buffet cooking, hospitality, and more. Culinary students can practice what they are learning at the Food for Thought Café on campus. The café provides a place for up-and-coming culinary students to showcase their skills.
As part of their coursework to attain their degree, students are also placed into internship positions at well-known restaurants nationwide.
Additionally, the school has a program called Running Start that gives eligible high school teachers the option to educate their students with undergraduate courses. For a fee, students can earn college credits through the successful completion of these classes.
