The Academy of Hair Design, in partnership with the community, will promote in all students the knowledge and competent skills necessary to become lifelong learners and responsible productive citizens through creative leadership, an embracing nurturing environment, using all available resources. As well as providing the education needed to pass the MS Board of Barber Examiners testing and enter the workforce with entry level skills.
We offer a program that prepares cosmetologists, barbers, stylists, nail technicians, and other grooming specialists to teach their specializations in licensed and accredited schools of cosmetology and barbering, and to prepare for licensure as instructors. Includes instruction in cosmetology arts and sciences teaching principles; student learning styles; professional curricula development; instructional planning; instructional methods and aids; student counseling and career assistance; test development; and classroom/clinic management.

Barbering/Barber
Barbering students learn the art of shaving and trimming facial/neck hair and beards, cutting and dressing hair, fitting hairpieces, giving facial and scalp massages, and applying cosmetic treatments. Barbering students also prepare for licensure as professional barbers at various levels. To promote the success of barbering students, these two year programs include instruction in hair and scalp anatomy and physiology, hairpiece and toupee fitting, equipment operation, health and safety, customer service, and shop business practices.See more schools with programs in Barbering/Barber
