Description

Louisiana Technical College in the Gulf Area is a public institution dedicated to providing educational resources and career training opportunities for the residents of Vermilion Parish.

Students from all walks of life and with different educational goals are welcomed at Louisiana Technical College. Students can enroll in occupation-specific certificate programs to receive hands-on training. Certificate programs are designed to accommodate the needs of the local job market.

Students can choose from a long list of concentrations, including Practical Nursing, Pharmacy Technician, Cosmetology, Computer Electronics Technology, Electrician, Masonry, Aviation Maintenance, and so much more.

Associate’s degrees are offered in several concentrations and General Education. Students interested in transferring to a four-year university are encouraged to earn an associate’s in General Education in order to ensure an easy transfer of credits.

Students are encouraged to take advantage of the many support services and opportunities available to them on campus. Distance learning options are available for many programs, while career services and academic advising are encouraged for all students.

Because Louisiana Technical College emphasizes technical training, student life is not especially active on campus. However, some student organizations are available for those who wish to get involved.

Louisiana Technical College offers quality instruction and a great avenue to jumpstart a more promising future.
