Description

As its name suggests, the Professional Massage Training Center is a vocational school dedicated to massage therapy. Its academics currently include two programs, both of which are designed to prepare you for the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage.

The Professional Massage Training Center offers training in Clinical Massage Therapy and Spa Massage Therapy. Both are 900-hour, one-year courses, but they vary in focus.

The Clinical Massage Therapy program is based on Precision Neuromuscular Therapy, and teaches students how to treat musculoskeletal disorders. This course is ideal for those interested in medical or sports massage.

On the other hand, the Spa Massage Therapy program teaches various non-medical treatments including skin care, hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, stone massage and Thai massage. Because spas employ a high number of massage therapists, this course can lead to many exciting job opportunities.

Because these courses are designed for working adults, PMTC offers flexible scheduling. Classes meet during the day, form 8am to 5pm, as well as evenings and weekends.

Financial aid is available at PMTC in the form of federal Title IV programs. These include Pell grants, Stafford loans and VA benefits. Because these programs are need-based, you must complete the FAFSA to be eligible.
