Description
The Center for Employment Training (CET) in San Jose, California offers a unique approach to career training for individuals in low-income or other challenging situations.
CET campuses are located in other California cities as well, such as El Centro, Oxnard and Gilroy. There are also CET branches in other states including Virginia and Illinois.
CET’s San Jose program offerings include such fields of study as Business Office Technology, Culinary Arts, Medical Assisting and Administrative Assisting.
Some of the populations served by CET include single mothers, the unemployed and those who left high school. Unique to CET is its individualized method of training. While all students attend full-time, they work at their own pace in moving from one level of training to the next.
CET’s career services helps students to find positions and build interviewing and resume writing skills.
Financial aid is available to qualifying students through grants and loans.
Admission is open to anyone aged 17 or over. Those who are interested in enrolling will need to attend one of CET’s orientation sessions.
