CCBC Description

The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) offers an impressive number of courses and, on top of that, its Essex campus offers an impressive student environment.

CCBC offers over 100 associate’s degrees and certificate programs, placing it among the top colleges in Maryland in terms of selection.

Courses and degree programs are subdivided into five distinctive schools, including the School of Health Professions, School of Liberal Arts and the School of Mathematics and Science.

The Spotlight Speakers Series is a highlight of CCBC Essex’s campus culture. Through this series, CCBC hosts presentations by an array of authors, activists, celebrities and educators.

Other aspects of student life include a range of programs intended to support students on all levels. These include the Peer Mentoring program, whereby students mentor one another, Disability Support Services, Multicultural Student Services, and the Childcare and Educational Talent Search which provides additional supports to students planning to transfer. Other services include the Student Success Center, the Counseling Center, the Tutoring Center and Career Services.

CCBC even has its own television station. This gives students the opportunity to gain experience in television production and to have the news delivered to them.

Financial aid offerings at CCBC include veterans benefits, state and institutional scholarships, loans, grants and payment plans, any of which are available to those who qualify for them.
