At Omaha School of Massage and Healthcare, our mission is to consistently pursue academic excellence by exposing students to a well balanced program that incorporates theory, physiology, anatomy, complimentary courses, and practical experiences that are pivotal to personal and professional growth.

We will emphasize dedication to create an environment that embraces diversity and respects the inherent value of the students, clients, faculty and staff members of the school.

OSMHC students have four different programs to choose from: Diploma in Therapeutic Massage; Associate of Science in Therapeutic Massage; Diploma in Medical Assisting; and Diploma in Medical Billing and Insurance Coding.

For our massage students, it is our desire to promote natural and holistic health through massage and bodywork along with complimentary alternative therapies. We provide instruction and a thorough working knowledge of various therapeutic massage techniques, function and structure of the human body, and development of professional habits.

For our healthcare students, we strive to provide the most relevant and up-to-date medical information and lab projects to ensure immediate success in gaining employment after graduation.

OSMHC is at 9748 Park Drive in Omaha, Nebraska 68127. We are located in Southwest Omaha within close proximity of many apartment complexes making it convenient to find housing close to the school. We do not have on-campus housing.

The facility is comprised of a variety of areas. There are three instructional classrooms, eight private therapy rooms, spa room, hydrotherapy room, and six administrative offices. The massage clinic classroom is equipped with a variety of massage tables as well as massage chairs.A new healthcare facility equipped with classrooms and medical labs will be opening in fall 2009.

    • Esthetician & Skin Care
      Aestheticians cleanse, depilate, massage, and beautify the human body. This program allows individuals to function as licensed estheticians and skin care specialists. The program includes instruction in skin anatomy, physiology, and health, principles of nutrition, decontamination and infection control, health and safety, facial and body massage, body wrapping and spa treatments, temporary hair removal including waxing and tweezing, color and skin analysis, client consultation and care, applicable laws and regulations, business practices, and sometimes related alternative healing regimens.

      • Massage Therapy
        A program that prepares individuals to provide relief and improved health and well-being to clients through the application of manual techniques for manipulating skin, muscles, and connective tissues. Includes instruction in Western (Swedish) massage; sports massage; myotherapy/trigger point massage; myofascial release; deep tissue massage; cranio-sacral therapy; reflexology; massage safety and emergency management; client counseling; practice management; applicable regulations; and professional standards and ethics.

      • Spa Therapy
        Spa therapy is a specific combination of hydro-massage techniques, baths with healing water and varieties of manual massage procedures performed by spa therapists. Spa procedures help human skin become soft and resilient, and full of living energy. A talented spa therapist must be able to relax a patient, provide him/her with qualified advice concerning the procedures available, and explain the healing effects of spa treatments. Additionally, the spa therapist must have the ability to maintain a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere for the patient.
