Description
At New England School of Photography in Boston, Massachusetts, students receive an education in photography that is both creative and practical. In addition to its combined but focused educational programs, students get the benefit of small classes, professional faculty and special access to local museums. New England School of Photography keeps its student body small, usually maintaining an enrollment of fewer than 200 students. Classes are generally small as a result, giving students the chance to work closely with the school’s faculty, who are all professional photographers themselves.
With its focus on providing a creative and marketable photography education, New England School offers majors and/or minors in such specializations as:
*Advertising and Commercial Photography
*Portraiture and Wedding Photography
*Documentary Photography
*Creative Imaging Arts
*Fashion Photography
In addition to getting highly marketable skills, students receive job-search assistance from the career services division so that they can find employment after graduating.
Another perk of attending New England School is that students get a pass to enter Boston’s museums free of charge.
New England School also has evening workshops for students of all backgrounds interested in getting preliminary or advanced training in different aspects of photography.
Entry to New England School’s program is based on one’s transcript and an in-person or telephone interview with a New England School representative.
Pell grants, federal and state loans, work-study and state grants are some of the financial aid sources available to students. Requirements for aid include full-time enrollment at the school and maintenance of a satisfactory GPA for continuing students. Financial aid recipients must also be in good standing with the Department of Education.
