Ohio Dominican University is a four-year liberal arts institution, founded in 1911 in the Catholic and Dominican tradition. The university has over 3,000 students and offers undergraduate degrees in over 50 majors as well as several graduate degree programs. Ohio Dominican uses a student-centered approach, with a commitment to quality teaching and learning and a number of academic programs of distinction.
Ohio Dominican's primary mission is to provide degree and continuing education programs for the intellectual development, the growth in truth, of each student. In keeping with the Dominican tradition, educational experiences should be grounded in the liberal arts, foster the development of spiritual, aesthetic, and ethical values, promote physical and mental health, and provide for the development and responsible use of human skills and talents in professional and social settings.
Ohio Dominican’s 64-acre campus is the best of both worlds – a beautiful, serene tree-lined residential campus just minutes from Downtown Columbus, in the nation’s 15th largest city.
Ohio Dominican University's campus is particularly suited to Residence Life, as charming, historic buildings mingle with modern structures. Companionable and cozy gathering places coexist with brightly-lit computer labs so that students have a variety of study atmospheres from which to choose. Mature shade trees arch over walkways and benches, while green expanses provide the perfect backdrop for impromptu sports or study in the outdoors. Meal choices vary from entrees served in the all-you-can-eat dining hall to pizza and burgers in the Underground or a sub from Panther Plaza.
