Slippery Rock University. In PA

Best Answer

Slippery Rock has a good reputation in the business community. Graduates are generally thought of as being smart and hardworking. Of course it depends upon what you plan to do with your life, but for many paths SRU would be an excellent choice (if you are willing to work very hard to distinguish yourself).

Question: What university is better CALU or or Slippery Rock? both located in PA?

What is a good college degree to get at either of these schools?

Best Answer

Depends on your major. i.e. CalU has a strong Criminology program, as well as a strong program in Climatology, but it's a much smaller school, and Slippery Rock offers degrees in many more areas. So, generally I'd say, Slippery Rock is better. Both are pretty close to Pittsburgh, in Rural areas, and have similar access to opportunities for employment, study abroad, and internships. They are "sister schools," in that they are part of the same University system. (State system of Higher Education)

This is a fine institution with 8 of 9 faculty holding post professional doctorates, 3 clinical specialists. They've been involved in numerous publications in the past

Question: Slippery Rock University?

I'm a freshman in High School (going on to be a Sophomore in August) and I've had my heart set on Slippery Rock University since I was twelve. My cumulative GPA for this year so far is 3.234 (usually higher but had a bad semester in the algebra department) What should I definitely do to get accepted here? Current Students- Do you like it??

Go to the Slippery Rock web site. Do a search for "freshman profile" and you'll get the stats on the most recent incoming class. That will give you a good idea of what they're looking for in terms of GPA, ACT/SAT, etc. Slippery Rock has an excellent section on their website for incoming freshmen: http://www.sru.edu/pages/13315.asp http://www.sru.edu
