When you say that you just got your paperwork done, does that mean that you just completed and submitted your FAFSA form for this year? If you've only just submitted your form, it will take the Department of Education a few days (maybe longer) to process and analyze your application - when they do, they'll send an EFC score to St. Louis Community College. When the financial aid office at SLCC receives that EFC, they will determine if you are eligible for a Pell Grant and any other forms of financial aid, and they will send you an aid offer letter. Another possibility as to what you meant by "got all your paperwork done" is that you received the aid offer letter and submitted some kind of form "accepting" that aid. If that's what you mean, it should only take a week or two for the Pell Grant funds to arrive at your school. You'll need to contact your financial aid office, because every school has its own policies on how it handles late arriving financial aid payments. Many schools allow financial aid recipients to pay tuition and fees a few weeks after the "regular" deadline, but not all schools do this. I noticed that SLCC has an installment payment program - if worse came to worse, you might have to apply for that program and make an initial (part) payment, while you await the arrival of your aid. Again, you'll need to contact financial aid to see what policies will apply to you. I hope this helped - good luck to you!
