PBU Description

At Philadelphia Biblical University (PBU), students receive a Christian-oriented education, while also benefiting from diverse academics and campus-life activities.

All of PBU’s distinctive schools integrate biblical studies. All students receive a bachelor’s or master’s in Bible, with a secondary concentration in another field of study. Concentrations include:

  • Christian counseling
  • Divinity
  • Youth Ministry
  • Education
  • Fine Arts
  • History
  • Pre-Law
  • Social Work
  • Music

Outside of class, students may attend chapel services and get involved in student ministry. PBU students may also participate in such local ministries as:

  • Business ministries
  • Children and youth ministries
  • Disabled ministries
  • Prison ministries

PBU also sponsors international ministry programs for students interested in traveling abroad.

Additional student life activities include academic, creative and other clubs, performing arts groups and community service activities.

Applicants should be committed Christians and will need to write an essay describing their spiritual commitment and sign the school’s statement of faith. Applicants will also need to complete an admissions application and submit ACT or SAT scores and transcripts. The average GPA of an entering student is 3.36.

Over three-quarters of students receive financial aid. Aid could include scholarships, which can cover up to half of tuition costs. Additional types of aid for eligible students include grants, loans and work-study money. Most students receive a financial aid package, which combines aid from these different sources.
