PBU Description

Philadelphia Biblical University exists to develop for the Christian church and related ministries leaders who possess a foundational knowledge of the Scriptures and a biblical world/life view. Its educational climate fosters development of intellectual and spiritual maturity, leadership potential, and a global perspective on mission. Each University program makes a unique contribution to the fulfillment of this mission.

Ours is an educational institution with a rich history, a clear vision, a quality academic program, and a timely mission because we live in an age that questions the notion of truth and has marginalized the Bible, which is God’s true Word. Despite this, we also live in a world that has serious questions, serious problems, and serious needs. This current state of affairs demands people who can provide answers, offer solutions, and both demonstrate and proclaim the love and truth of Christ.

Today, as they have since 1913, graduates from this institution are making a contribution around the world by taking their places in the church, society, and the world as biblically minded, well-educated, and professionally competent servants of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is the truest measure of our success. The lives of those who have studied here testify to the fulfillment of a vision for providing a distinctly and thoroughly biblical education that prepares men and women to make a difference.

Student life provides an exciting opportunity for involvement with all facets of the University, thus building a collective community of learners. This community is not constructed by coincidence or unconnected incidents but through careful and intentional planning and implementation.

PBU's 105-acre wooded suburban campus features the 100,000-volume Masland Resource Center, full athletic facilities, on and off-campus undergraduate dormitories, and the new Biblical Learning Center, opened in 2002.
PBU is just 30 minutes away from downtown Philadelphia, a short drive from Pennsylvania countryside, and very close to local entertainment and commerce. PBU is also within walking distance of regional mass transit.
