It is the mission of Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI), a National Indian Community College, to provide quality technical and higher education opportunities that meet the dynamic needs of federally recognized tribes. This endeavor provide the opportunities to: enter the technological workforce as self-sufficient and contributing members of society; acquire higher levels of academic achievement; and enrich and enhance student learning and self-esteem by responding to their mental, social, physical, spiritual, and cultural needs.
SIPI accepts as students American Indian and Alaskan Natives, who must meet one of two tribal affiliation criteria: verification of US Federal tribal membership from a Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) agency or tribal census office; or must be one-quarter percent or more blood quantum of a federally recognized tribe(s), verified by either a BIA agency or tribal census office.
The College is continuing to develop additional post-secondary training programs that are specific to the needs of industry and the National Indian Community.
