Penn State Description

As part of Penn State’s expansive academic network, The Behrend College maintains the PSU standard of excellence.

Located in Erie, Pennsylvania, the college has undergone significant development in the past decade, including the Jack Burke Research and Economic Development Center, the Junker Center, the Smith Chapel, and Knowledge Park. Certainly, there’s no shortage of resources or facilities at The Behrend College.

In addition to approximately 35 bachelor’s degree programs, Penn State Erie offers graduate degree programs in business administration and project management. Undergraduate students seeking transfer to Penn State’s main campus in University Park can also begin their desired major at The Behrend College, and then transfer to PSU for a 2+2 bachelor’s degree program.

Over 1,500 students live on campus at The Behrend College, resulting in a rich and diverse student life. There are over 100 clubs and organizations and a variety of options for residential life, including the recently completed Senat Hall.

As far as financial aid goes, PSU Behrend strives to make education affordable for all of its students. Government aid programs like the FSEOG, PHEAA State Grant and National SMART Grant are available to those who qualify, as are numerous institutional scholarships. Though merit is the primary basis for many of these scholarships, financial need is also taken into consideration.
