The mission of Jefferson Technical College is to provide lifelong learning for career development through excellence in education courses, services, partnerships, and programs which develop individual skills and abilities to perpare a skilled and versatile workforce.
Jefferson Community and Technical College (JCTC), located in Louisville, Kentucky, is one of 16 two-year, open-admissions colleges of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). It was formed on July 1, 2005 by the consolidation of Jefferson Community College and Jefferson Technical College. Jefferson Community College was originally chartered in 1968 and Jefferson Technical College (originally Jefferson County State Vocational-Technical School and later Kentucky TECH, Jefferson Campus) was chartered in 1953. It is a two-year college located in Louisville and is the largest college in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System. JCTC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
In the fall 2007 semester, Jefferson's total headcount was 15,535 students. The student body is 54% female, 46% male. In fall 2007, minority enrollment included African-American (14%) and Asian (1%) students.

As of the fall 2006 semester, resident tuition is $109.00 per credit hour. Students residing contiguous to Kentucky and those students enrolled in the Kentucky Community and Technical College System online courses pay tuition of $131.00 per credit hour. All other out-of-state students pay $327.00 per credit hour.
Jefferson offers 27 A.A.S. career curricula, transfer A.A. or A.S. curricula, 16 diploma programs and 39 certificate programs.
