Description

Lawson State Community College’s academics and career training programs will help you on your way to a bachelor’s degree or an in-demand profession and its specialized employment center will help you to choose just which educational and career path is right for you.

Business Administration, Commercial Art, Cosmetology, Electronics Technology, Plumbing and Practical Nursing are just some of the career paths available at Lawson State. There are also a number of pre-professional programs in such fields as Engineering, Medicine, Physical Therapy and Speech-Language Pathology.

Academic programs in the Liberal Arts and Sciences are equally specialized, with majors in such fields as Art History, Journalism, Religious Studies and Social Science.

Since the options are numerous and the choices are diverse, it can be difficult for students to decide which field of study to choose. This is where Lawson State’s WorkKeys Service Center comes in. As soon as students start attending Lawson State, WorkKeys gives them an assessment to determine their skills, talents and areas needing improvement.

Once students are settled on a major they may also benefit from other student services such as career placement and counseling. Financial aid services will also help students to apply for scholarships and other forms of financial aid.

Student academic and professional organizations are also in place to give students a chance to expand the knowledge and skills they learn in the classroom.

Other student life activities, including recreational and athletic programs, give students the chance to recharge and unwind as well. Students may get tuition information and apply for admission to Lawson State online.
