Description

In the Catholic tradition of service, University of St. Francis, in Joliet, Illinois offers undergraduate and graduate degrees leading primarily to careers in the helping professions.

Undergraduate programs include a number of pre-medical majors such as Pre-Dental, Pre-Med, Pre-Pharmacy and Pre-Physical Therapy. Degrees are also granted in such service-oriented careers as Social Work, Elementary Education, Music Education, Psychology, Therapeutic Recreation and a number of others.

Graduate programs include such fields as elementary, Secondary and Special Education, Health Administration, Nursing, Social Work and Health Services.

Several additional degrees are also offered in such fields as Business and Communication or Media Arts.

Since the student-to-teacher ratio is low, classes remain small and faculty are given optimal time to serve their students through one-on-one instruction.

University of St. Francis’ institutes and centers also fulfill this mission of service while giving students the opportunity to use their skills. For example, an on-campus health center serves needy community members while giving nursing students the opportunity to work with patients.

Career services at University of St. Francis include interviewing assistance, career assessment and counseling, access to job resources, workshops, seminars and internship opportunities.

Financial aid is also available through various sources, which may be discussed with a USF financial aid counselor.
