The mission of Wytheville Community College is to provide a quality, comprehensive education for the citizens of the counties of Bland, Carroll, Grayson, Smyth, and Wythe and the city of Galax.

Wytheville Community College offers a wide range of programs—transfer programs for the first two years of a baccalaureate degree, technical-occupational programs to prepare for a successful career, developmental courses to assist in your success at the college, and continuing education for the life of learning we all must live. Nearly 90,000 people have been served in credit and non-credit courses. We hope that you will join them.

Further, the college offers courses in many venues. Students are able to take classes during the day, at night, or on the weekend. Additionally, the college offers courses at the Crossroads Institute in Galax and at the Smyth County Education Center, and has a strong distance learning program for students who wish to take classes at or near their homes.

WCC has excellent, caring staff and faculty focused on the needs of all our students. One of the ways we do this is to partner with business, industry, government, schools, and universities. Our programs and services are designed with you in mind!

Wytheville Community College is a two-year college located in Wytheville, Virginia. One of the 23 schools in the Virginia Community College System, the college opened in 1963, and serves residents of Bland, Carroll, Grayson, parts of Smyth, and Wythe counties, and the City of Galax. WCC is well known in the region for its Nursing and Dental Hygiene programs, both of which generally have a two to five year waiting list.

Wytheville Community College provides a fantastic transition for high school graduates who aren't ready (due to academics or personal preference) to go into a four year university. It also allows lower-income students to receive a very affordable and quality education. The administration, faculty, and staff are very caring and believe in providing the best quality education to their students.

The current president is Dr. Charlie White. The college has all three federally funded TRIO programs, which include Upward Bound, Talent Search, and Student Services. It also has many clubs and organizations including PTK, ACM Club, Police Science Club, Nursing club, Student Government Association, and many more.
