Wytheville Community College (WCC) in Wytheville, Virginia offers educational and on-the-job training for in-demand careers as well as opportunities for academic advancement.

WCC offers nearly thirty academic programs leading to associate’s degrees, diplomas and certificates. These include programs leading to such in-demand careers as nursing, physical therapy assistance and law enforcement. Other WCC programs lead to four-year university or college transfer.

To give students the chance to integrate work and learning, WCC has the cooperative education program. Through this program, students work at an internship in their major approximately 20 hours per week and, therefore, improve their professional expertise and marketability to employers.

In addition to credit-based programs, WCC has continuing and professional educational opportunities. These include classes in workforce development and developmental courses in basic reading, writing and math.

WCC’s student services include counseling, tutoring and job-placement services. Financial aid is available through such sources as Pell grants, grants for Veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan, and numerous other grants and loans, all of which are available to those who qualify.
