Bayamón Central University (also known as Universidad Central de Bayamón or UCB) is a private, Catholic school of higher learning in Puerto Rico. It offers certificate and undergraduate degree programs in a number of fields, including Business Administration, Communications (Journalism), Computer Science, Elementary Education, and Religious Studies.
Additionally, UCB has technical certificate and continuing education programs such as: Child Care, Conversational Spanish, Nursing Assistant, Television Production, and Writing for the Work Place.
Certain coursework is available online through the school’s distance education program.
The institution also has an Upward Bound program that prepares high school students for a college curriculum. Academic and occupational advisors provide guidance to students and graduates throughout their time at the university.
UCB even operates its own child care center, giving students a safe place to take their child or children while they are taking classes on campus.
Those interested in enrolling at UCB must submit an application along with an application fee. Grades, recommendations, standardized test scores, and transcripts will be considered. Financial aid is awarded to those who need it, and are found eligible, to assist with tuition costs and other educational expenses.
