Joliet Junior College is committed to providing a quality education that is affordable and accessible to the diverse student population it serves. Through a rich variety of educational programs and support services, JJC prepares its students for success in higher education and employment. As part of this College's commitment to lifelong learning and services to its community, it also provides a broad spectrum of transitional, extension, adult, continuing and work force education.
Joliet Junior College (JJC), a comprehensive community college based in Joliet, Illinois, was the first public community college founded in the United States. JJC offers pre-baccalaureate programs for students planning to transfer to a four-year university, as well as occupational education leading directly to employment. Additionally, JJC offers adult education and literacy programs, workforce development services, and student support services. In fall 2007, the college enrolled 13,149 students. Every year, over 22,000 students enroll in the college's academic programs in addition to over 14,000 students in non-credit programs.
