In this endeavor, the College employs a wide range of approaches to teaching and learning and provides opportunities to connect the study of the liberal arts with practical learning experiences on campus, in the Hampton Roads region, and throughout the world. Virginia Wesleyan College is a small Methodist liberal arts college on the border of Virginia Beach and Norfolk, Virginia offering a Bachelor of Arts in many disciplines and has added Bachelor of Science programs as well. Virginia Wesleyan College boasts a strong student-to-faculty ratio and has shown steady campus growth for several years.

Distinctions

The college made the 2004 US News and World Report List of Best Colleges and it earned distinction for ten major programs in the 20th edition of Rugg's Recommendations on Colleges.

The women's soccer team made it to the final four in Disney World in 1 after winning the ODAC tournament for the first time in program history.
