Website: Crossroads Bible College
Our mission is to Train Christian leaders to reach a multi-ethnic urban world for Christ.
The Bible is the heart and core of every educational program at Crossroads. We believe it to be the inspired, inerrant, authoritative Word of God, the all-sufficient source of truth. Theologically, Crossroads is conservative and evangelical, which means your Christian faith will not be attacked but built up. We affirm the historic fundamentals held by all true Christians, regardless of denomination, through the ages.
At Crossroads we are persuaded that what we are is as important as what we know. Therefore we place much effort in developing Christ-like character and a servant's heart. You will be challenged to live a balanced, mature, consistent Christian life.
The principal aim of the Bible College is to equip students for full-time Christian ministries. Thus, every baccalaureate student majors both in Bible and in a church-related professional concentration. Liberal arts courses are taught, of course, but always from a thoroughly biblical perspective. The Word of God is at the very core of the curriculum. It is honored in every course taught.
Like other Bible colleges, we exist to equip men and women to use the Word of God more effectively in order to carry out the Great Commission as members of their churches and as witnesses in their communities. Training students to be pastors, evangelists, missionaries, church education leaders, biblical counselors, youth leaders, and Christian school teachers is our specialty.
However, as an undergraduate institution, Crossroads Bible College is distinct from most other Christian colleges. Our particular concern is to train men and women of many cultural and racial backgrounds for effective roles in Christian service. Racial and cultural alienation and isolation remain perhaps the biggest hindrances facing the North American church in its mission of proclaiming and modeling the gospel of Christ. The goal of Crossroads Bible College is to model a biblical multiracial and multicultural ministry so as to promote racial reconciliation rooted in redemption. We particularly desire to acquaint our students with the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of African Americans and so equip them to evangelize, disciple, and partner with African American and other ethnic groups according to the clear teaching of Scripture.
The campus of Crossroads Bible College is located at 601 North Shortridge Road. This lovely 43,000 sq. ft. facility is the long-awaited answer to our prayers. The campus is equipped with a beautiful 650-seat auditorium, a gymnasium, seven classrooms, a growing library, some twenty offices for the staff and faculty, a fully equipped kitchen, and a student lounge.
The College is conveniently located on the east side of the “Circle City” approximately five minutes south and east of the Interstate 70 Shadeland Avenue exit. It is just east of Eastgate Shopping Center and readily accessible via public bus service. Other shopping centers are close by. The nearby downtown area offers students the State Capitol Building, the Convention Center (where many religious crusades, national conferences, political events, trade shows, and circuses are held). The area is also host to the Conseco Field House, home of the Pacers professional basketball team, and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home of the world-renowned Indianapolis 500 race. For those interested in the fine arts, the nearby Indianapolis Museum of Arts is one of the country's finest; the State Museum and Indianapolis Symphonic Orchestra provide other culturally enriching opportunities.
