ETBU Description
East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas offers a spiritually oriented education in which students regularly engage in learning activities outside the classroom.
Faith is the foundation of an East Texas Baptist University education. Students have the opportunity to major in Christian Studies, giving them the knowledge and the experience to become successful pastors, ministers and Christian educators.
Those who elect to major in such fields as Business, Fine Arts, Humanities, Natural Sciences, Nursing and Social Sciences also examine their discipline from a Christian perspective.
Another appealing feature of East Texas Baptist’s academics is the out-of-class component. Students regularly engage in outside research projects as well as internships in their subject area.
In addition to providing opportunities for students to deepen and explore their faith through campus and traveling ministries, worship and a yearly Christian Writer’s Conference, the student life activities also provide cultural and recreational experience.
Since the school is located a little over two hours from Dallas, students can also take trips to the big city to discover all of the cultural richness that it offers.
In addition to requiring prospective students to accept the religious mission of the school, the Admissions Department also has a minimum requirement for SAT or ACT scores.
Students who need assistance with tuition costs may apply for scholarships and other forms of financial aid.
