Rated as a top community college in Connecticut, Gateway Community College, has close to 100 degrees, certificates and other academic programs. In addition to its career training programs, Gateway has a curriculum specifically designed to make a transfer to a four-year college as smooth as possible.

Located in New Haven, Gateway offers programs of study in business, computer and technical fields, healthcare and in the liberal and fine arts.

Because of Gateway’s Common Course curriculum, students who receive an associate’s degree may transfer with ease to private and public institutions throughout Connecticut.

Gateway also offers online and continuing education courses.

College life at Gateway is equally diverse and rich with opportunity. In addition to numerous clubs, organizations and performing arts opportunities, Gateway sponsors lectures and performances by well-known writers, artists and scholars.

Those applying for admission to degree programs must submit an application and transcripts and take a placement test.

Financial aid sources include federal grants and loans, Connecticut state talent awards, work-study and veteran’s benefits. In order to receive financial aid, students must be in good standing with the Department of Education and must remain a satisfactory grade point average to continue receiving aid.
