Gateway Community College is located in Connecticut with two campuses: one in New Haven (Long Wharf campus) and one in North Haven. Gateway has over 11,000 students a year, full and part-time, in over 90 academic programs.
Gateway Community College was formed on July 1, 1992 from the consolidation of two other secondary institutions. The former South Central Community College (at Long Wharf) combined resources with the former Greater New Haven State Technical College in North Haven.
Gateway Community College will be moving to their new state-of-the art-campus near downtown New Haven in 2011, Gateway students will have the additional benefits and convenience of being centrally located in a thriving city, with academic, cultural, and retail opportunities within blocks of the campus.
