Question: What's your opinion on Grand Valley State University?

I'm considering going there because it's inexpensive and has a high GPA admission rate. But, I've heard that it's really religious and I'm not that into religion and stuff, but yeah. Please, please give me your opinion on Grand Valley State!! Also, I'd like to go into the English department as a fiction editor so if you could tell me anything about that it would be great!

It is a very nice school, and they have a good academic reputation. The campus is beautiful and the class size is not too big like U of M or MSU especially during the first two years. I like their location which is almost between Detroit and Chicago. Their housing is amazing. One of the dorms is called an apartment style, and it is like living in an apartment (room comes with stove, oven, bathroom, etc...). GVSU is not a religious school, but I think they are more strict with parties in dorms. Maybe their Themed Housing must be like "religious atmosphere" (like Honors, Pre-Law, and Healthy Choice), I guess. You should go visit the campus and talk to their counselors about their English department. Dream big and work very hard for it. You might become a fiction editor or you might not, but you will be successful.

Question: Is Grand Valley State University Housing Coed?

does anyone know if the housing at Grand Valley State University is coed? It doesn't say on the site.

Yes, all on-campus housing is in some way co-ed. It is either organized by floor (in the "traditional" style dorms- boys on 1 floor, girls on 1 floor or side of the floor, that type of arrangement) or by suite. Obviously, by suite, so that your room does not share with a girls' room. In suite-style dorms, it is by suite, so there will be girls across the hall and next door, but not adjoining your room. In apartment style, it's also co-ed by suite, which simply means there are male and female rooms next to eachother, just not male-female roommates. Hope that helped.

Question: Is grand valley state university better for pre-dentistry (leading to ortho) or western michigan university?

I'm really on the fence of where to attend college. I am 18 and positive I want to become an orthodontist. I'm just not quite sure which college would be best for me for pre-dentistry. I have narrowed it down to either Grand Valley State University or Western Michigan University. I already got accepted to both. If someone could please help direct me as to which I should choose it would be greatly appreciated !

I go to GVSU, and I am nowhere near any kind of medical major, but I can give you advice on GVSU in general if you want. I love it. I was also accepted to WMU and go to GVSU, no contest. As far as pre-dentistry, look into which school has a better program and be more likely to get you placement into a dental school. If one school doesn't have a pre-dental program exactly, I would say not to bother. Get in contact with professors (look on the GVSU website and check the programs page)- I know GV profs are always willing to help you out. The main goal is to get into dental school, so see what has a better program. I know GV has a medical buliding downtown, so maybe their pre-med programs are good? Good luck, and GO LAKERS! :)

Question: Grand Valley State University of Western Michigan University?

Which is harder to get into? I heard all you need to get accepted into Western Michigan is a 2.5 ish. Is this true? What GPA do these schools take?

cappex.com has a way to see what your changes are of getting in. I applied to both and got in, but I think GVSU is harder to get into.
