Provided by Golf Academy of America- The CarolinasGolf Academy of America is a two-year golf college that will help improve your golf skills while preparing you for a rewarding and successful golf career! A wide range of golf jobs are available in this $76-billion-a-year industry. Golf Academy of America prepares you to get the golf job of your dreams.
Our 16-month program offers a curriculum of golf instruction and golf business management at all four golf schools, and provides graduates with the education required to get the golf job they desire. You'll soon be teaching others how to improve their game!
The Academy offers a two-academic-year associate degree program with an occupational objective of Golf Complex Operations and Management, with two areas of emphasis: Golf Professional and General Golf Management. Students may choose to have a dual emphasis or choose to specialize in one area only. Although an area of emphasis is chosen, students will have the opportunity to supplement the designated golf curriculum with elective courses each semester.
The Academy offers three semesters per calendar year with most students completing all requirements in 16 consecutive months. The schedule is comprised of classroom instruction, golf instruction, tournaments, open play, and practice. The curricula include open play and tournament rounds every week and a comprehensive driving range package for student practice.
Golf Academy of America - The Carolinas, which opened in 1998, expanded to a new campus late 2004. The Myrtle Beach, South Carolina campus is located within minutes of over 100 golf courses in an area often referred to as the golf mecca of the United States. Golf Academy of America - The Carolinas has been customized to create a truly unique golf instruction and learning environment. The physical facilities of Golf Academy of America - The Carolinas comprise classroom, computer lab, club repair, library, lounge, student and placement service areas as well as administrative offices. Golf instruction, practice, and play are conducted at area facilities.
Myrtle Beach is a warm coastal resort area where the sun shines and the fun never sets. Also known as the Grand Strand for its 60-mile stretch of continual beaches from Little River to Georgetown, Myrtle Beach is considered one of the premier vacation destinations on the East Coast. For the competitive golfer, Myrtle Beach is the host for a number of mini-tour and amateur events, including the Dupont World Amateur Tournament, which is the largest amateur golf tournament in the world.
