Mission Statement of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College The Reconstructionist Rabbinical College is committed to the Jewish people, to Israel, to the Reconstructionist conception of Judaism as an evolving religious civilization, and to the advancement of universal freedom, justice and peace. The College’s primary mission is to train rabbis, as well as other Jewish leaders, to teach Torah in its broadest terms and provide Jewish leadership in congregations and in other roles throughout the Jewish community. The College strengthens the Jewish community and broader society through developing and disseminating new ideas, resources and training opportunities. The College supports the growth of the Reconstructionist movement and the furtherance of its ideas and ideals throughout the Jewish world. In accordance with the philosophy of Reconstructionism, the College strives to function as an organic Jewish community. The Board of Governors, the administration, the faculty and the students are encouraged to foster the interdependence and harmonious relationships appropriate to godliness and human fulfillment, and to work in close partnership with the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation and the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association.
