The WSWHE Board of Cooperative Educational Services provides cost-effective shared educational programs and services that complement component school districts in strengthening the quality of living and learning in their communities.
WSWHE BOCES provides educational services for students of all age levels and abilities. We recognize and encourage student success, and continue to increase collaboration and communication with component school districts.
Our component school districts are provided programs in Career and Technical Education, Special Education and Adult Education. Through our School Support Services, we also provide professional training and staff development, which place a continuing emphasis on program quality and responsiveness to district needs.
Dedicated staff members, teachers, administrators and board members continue to work hard to provide quality programs and services based on present and future needs. WSWHE BOCES serves as an invaluable resource to thirty-one school districts in five separate counties of upstate New York.
Practical Nursing is a 1,200-hour program for high school seniors and adults. The curriculum includes fundamentals of nursing, growth and development, community health, nutrition, anatomy and physiology, math, phlebotomy, medical terminology, pharmacology, and medication. It explores emergency care, EKG, geriatrics, maternity nursing, medical surgical nursing, pediatric nursing, and mental health. Students also learn office practical skills, communication skills, and computer applications. Clinical field experiences are a required component of the curriculum. The program stresses professional standards, integrity, academic excellence, and the human side of nursing.

A program that prepares individuals to assist in providing general nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse, physician or dentist. Includes instruction in taking patient vital signs, applying sterile dressings, patient health education and assistance with examinations and treatment.
