A diverse student body and a high success rate among its graduates are two reasons to attend University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

A private school, University of Bridgeport offers undergraduate academics in the liberal and fine arts, humanities, business, and the natural and social sciences, among other subjects. The vast majority of undergraduates at Bridgeport go on to graduate school either at Bridgeport or elsewhere.

Bridgeport’s graduate and professional academics include its well-known medical programs, which feature a college of naturopathic medicine, a chiropractic school and an acupuncture institute. Training undergraduate and graduate students for medical careers, these schools also offer medical care to the community, giving students the opportunity to study and work in a clinical setting.

Other graduate-level professional offerings are offered in such fields as education, counseling, engineering and technology management.

Recognized as having an exceptionally diverse student body, Bridgeport’s students represent numerous cultures, ethnicities and countries represented.

Bridgeport’s student organizations also reflect this diversity, with such clubs as the National Society of Black Student Engineers, a Caribbean student association, as well as groups for Latin American, Muslim, lesbian and gay students. Diverse interests are also represented by Bridgeport’s student organizations and activities, which range from everything to a ballroom dance club to a school newspaper to clubs devoted to cooking, fencing and music production.

Admission is based on submission of an application, transcripts, test scores, a personal statement and letters of recommendation.
