Description

South Florida Community College (SFCC) provides adults and high school students with career and academic preparation in a culturally vibrant environment.

Located in Avon Park, Florida, SFCC has four campuses in DeSoto, Hardee, Highlands and Lake Placid. Online classes are also available.

SFCC’s career-training programs prepare one for some of the most in-demand professions such as business, cosmetology, dental hygiene, electronics, hospitality, nursing and public service.

Academic programs leading to four-year university transfers are also offered in the arts, sciences and humanities.

SFCC’s high school academy provides high school students with training in such careers as air conditioning and refrigeration, allied health, computer science, culinary arts and medical administration.

Assisting students at every phase of their academic and career preparation, the career services department helps students with everything from choosing a major to exploring different careers to preparing for a job interview.

A culturally rich campus life is another benefit of attending SFCC. An on-campus museum and a massive performing arts center, which features well-known musical performers, concerts and dance and theatre events, may be found on the SFCC campus.

SFCC has an open admissions policy for most departments. However, some departments might have additional requirements.

Tuition is lower for in-state residents and deferred for those in the high school academy. Financial aid is also available to those who qualify.
