School Description
Provided by Boulder College of Massage TherapyThe Boulder College of Massage Therapy offers comprehensive, experiential education in the art and science of integrative health, seeking to balance professional expertise and support personal growth in an environment that celebrates diversity.
As the profession of massage therapy continues to grow, there are hundreds of massage schools that you can choose from. Unfortunately, many of these massage schools are becoming corporate ventures more interested in turning a profit than upholding the highest educational standards. To the contrary, the Boulder College of Massage Therapy (BCMT) has been an independent, non-for-profit massage school since its inception in 1975. The focus of our nationally acclaimed faculty and comprehensive curriculum has always been - and will always be - to provide a superior education for our students that opens the door for them to practice anywhere in the world.
Our massage school students get the hands-on experience they need by providing over 8,000 massages and bodywork sessions to community members every year. When you graduate, you will have more than 75 hours of clinical experience in a professional and supervised setting.
Our massage school faculty is truly dedicated to your educational needs. We have credentialed faculty members who possess extensive experience as skilled instructors, and several have been honored with the American Massage Therapy Association's Teacher of the Year award.
Our supervised internship and outreach programs let you explore various specializations while contributing to the community. Opportunities include internships with Boulder Community Hospital, CU's Dal Ward Athletic Center, Rose Medical Center, Mapleton Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Hospice of Boulder County, the Colorado Rapids and Colorado Crush sports teams, chiropractic clinics, sporting events like the Bolder Boulder 10k Race and several non-profits.
Our 31,000 sq. ft. facility was specifically designed for comprehensive training in massage therapy. It includes a professional 12-room clinic, fully equipped spa training classroom, computer lab, reference library, student lounge and patio area, wellness bookstore, large group lecture rooms, and training classrooms with tables and futons.

College Advice |
Question: How good of a school is the Boulder College of Massage Therapy?I will be studying massage therapy soon and I'm seriously looking at Boulder College of Massage. Does anyone have any advice/opinions about the school? How is it rated compared to other massage schools? How is Boulder, CO compared to the east (I would be coming from Nashville, TN)? Thanks : )16 months ago
Best AnswerThere are no ratings for massage schools. You get what you put into it really. CO an TN are as different as night and day. I recommend that you visit the schools that you are thinking about going to so that you can see them and talk to the teachers, students and even the graduates esp those who are working in the field. Each massage school is different and it depends on what your needs are. |
