UND Description

With its extensive academics, recognized research contributions and abundance of student life offerings, University of North Dakota (UND) epitomizes a thriving academic center.

Located in Grand Forks, North Dakota, approximately half of UND’s students come from states throughout the nation and countries across the globe.

This is, in great part, because of its impressive academics including a nearly 300 undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs.

With the renowned School of Aerospace Sciences, which trains the world’s best pilots, UND also boasts exceptional programs in law and medicine.

UND’s other undergraduate schools include the college of arts and sciences, which offers degrees in art, communication sciences, history and music therapy among others. There is also a school of business and administration, a college of education, a school of engineering and a nursing school.

UND’s graduate school has more than 80 master’s and doctoral programs from which to choose. UND is also respected for its research activities undertaken in such fields as health sciences, medical technology, environmental protection and engineering.

The thousands of students that attend UND may also benefit from the thriving student life. Numerous living options, including dorms and apartments as well as a number of dining facilities can be found at UND. There is also a range of religious, athletic, recreational, cultural, and arts activities.

Student services consist of several health centers, generalized and subject-specific career counseling, disability services, personal counseling, American Indian student services, math and writing centers, a women’s center and many others.

Financial aid for eligible students includes work-study, scholarships, grants, and loans and fellowships and assistantships for graduate students.
