Description

Partnership, collaboration and service are three words that define an Allen College education. Located in Waterloo, Iowa, Allen College offers certificates, bachelor’s and graduate degrees in various healthcare professions such Radiography and Nursing.

Some of Allen College’s partnerships include those with five local Iowa colleges and universities, including University of Northern Iowa. These educational partnerships give Allen students the chance to supplement their education with additional courses taken at other schools. Students at one of the five other schools may also benefit by taking classes at or transferring to Allen from their own school.

Allen College is also closely affiliated with healthcare facilities. Among these is Allen Memorial Hospital: through this partnership, students are regularly given the chance to work directly with patients.

Allen College’s collaborations are grounded in the philosophy of service and caring. Allen College espouses the idea of caring for its students so that they may, in turn, care for others in their profession.

A Christian college, Allen College’s service-oriented perspective is, in great part, rooted in its religious belief. As they state in their mission, this caring attitude embodies “the true spirit of Christian love and service.”

This emblem of service can be seen most clearly in their Salvation Army partnership. Students in the Allen College nursing program work at the Salvation Army ACE-SAP Clinic to provide free healthcare to local, needy individuals. Benefiting the recipients of such services, this program also provides yet another opportunity for Allen students to work directly with patients.

Numerous student services, including job placement services and financial aid offerings are available to Allen College students.

Financial aid offerings and payment options are available for applicants who qualify.
