Description

Students in Berks County, near Reading, Pennsylvania, are lucky to have a school like Reading Area Community College, which is dedicated to guiding its students in earning a certificate or associate degree in two years.

Some of the certificate programs allow students to work solely in online courses. Other online courses are six weeks long and teach a new skill.

Fields of study include Accounting, Computer Technology, Culinary Arts, Legal Secretary, Medical Transcriptionist, Website Development, Medical Laboratory Technician, Nursing, Communications, Early Childhood Education and many more.

If your goal is to eventually attend a four-year university, there is a transfer center at Reading Area Community College that helps students meet university requirements and has the resources to transfer with success. Other student life services include student government, a leadership program, academic advising, tutoring, and an assessment center.

The career center has job opportunities, career fairs, on-campus recruiting, a career library, career counseling, and career development courses that will teach students to write resumes, interviewing skills, and other important skills.

Special scholarships for eligible RACC students include the Foundation for Reading Area Community College scholarship, American Sign Language scholarship, and Townsend Press reading contest, which awards $100 per 10 books that students read.
