My mother went there--when it was Evansville College. She got graduate degrees elsewhere and wound up working for the State Dept and then teaching at Columbia University, so I guess Evansville gave her a good start. But a long time ago!

Both are recognized as regional universities, but I think that Evansville's faculty has a greater reach in the journals, so if you are considering a Master's (as all engineers should), Evansville is more impressive. Where do you feel more comfortable?
There are 4 or 5 different small colleges in the actual city. I was looking at the University of Dubuque and Loras University, I don't know much about the others.

I personally graduated from Loras College. I feel it was a pretty good liberal arts school, and I got a pretty good education. From my experiences, Loras had more classes and options of majors than the University of Dubuque. I don't know what exactly you are look to get into, so maybe that would influance it too.
