HCC Description

The Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport, Connecticut, provides a quality two-year education based in the liberal arts in an intellectually active and culturally rich environment. The school aims to prepare students for transfer, immediate employment and lifelong learning.

The college maintains partnerships with businesses, the community and other colleges to provide job opportunities and transfers.

The campus is state-of-the-art and has only the most up-to-date technology and facilities designed to serve students, the local community and its businesses.

College life offers a rich array of opportunities. Whether you want to participate in art, business, academic, religious and cultural groups or explore Housatonic’s renowned museum that features one of the largest art collections of any two-year institute in the nation, there’s always something happening on campus.

Academics include a wide variety of associate’s degrees and certificate programs in fields like Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Fine Arts, Graphic Design and many more.

Admissions are open. Students who have earned a high school diploma or GED must submit transcripts. Those who have taken the ACT or SAT are not required to take placement tests.

Tuition is set lower for Connecticut residents.

Financial aid is available to eligible students who have completed a FAFSA application through the form of loans, grants and other assistance options. Tuition is waived for senior citizens and qualifying veterans.
