Moraine Valley Community College is located in Palos Hills, Illinois in the southwest suburbs of Chicago. It is the second largest community college in the state. There are approximately 47,000 students enrolled as of the Fall 2006 semester. It was founded in 1967 and its main campus is 294 acres nestled in the Cook County forest preserves, in the Moraine Valley. The college is part of Illinois Community College District 252. The Glacier is Moraine Valley's student newspaper.
