GPC Description

The goal of Georgia Perimeter College in Decatur, Georgia, is to provide students with not only a high quality two-year education, but also the extracurricular activities to make it an enriching college experience.

Whether you’re interested in arts, academic clubs or ethnic organizations, Georgia Perimeter has opportunities for you. You can join a special interest group like the Jazzy Jaguars Dance Group, or gain professional experience in the Student Government Association. Even if you don’t join a club, events are always happening on campus—from guest speakers to leadership forums to Casino Nights—ensuring that student life is continually exciting.

The college even has its own theatre and orchestra, the Dekalb Symphony. Georgia Perimeter also offers many volunteer opportunities to interested students.

Academics at the school include an associate’s of art and associate’s of science degrees in wide number of transfer programs. Students may also take career or certificate programs in many fields, like Nursing, Fire Management, Sign Language Interpretation and more.

Admissions require students to submit high school or GED transcripts and have maintained a high school GPA of at least 2.0.

Tuition is set lower for Georgia residents.

Students who complete the FAFSA application will be considered for financial aid through the form of institutional scholarships, federal grants, loans and work study programs.

Well I am enrolled but I haven't exactly started yet. However, the staff that I did encounter was very friendly, helpful, and professional. I also received a reminder call of the forms I needed to turn in as well as received a call when my application was accepted and was advised of how I could retrieve my email account.

OVERALL, THIS IS A GOOD SCHOOL TO ATTEND. I HAD N OT ATTENDED COLLEGE IN ALMOST EIGHT YEARS BEFORE RETURNING BACK TO COLLEGE. THIS TRANSITION HAS BEEN SMOOTH. I AM TAKING AN ONLINE CLASS AND I AM ENJOYING THIS LEARNING EXPERIENCE.
