Whatcom Community College is a state supported, public, comprehensive community college. Its primary mission is effective quality education designed to foster the development of students' knowledge, communication and critical thinking skills, personal integrity, global understanding, and appreciation of diversity. In preparing students for full and effective lives in a changing world, the College offers courses and associate degrees necessary for successful transfer to baccalaureate institutions; professional technical degrees and certificates; and pre-college, self-development, and community education courses and programs. The College develops and uses new educational concepts and instructional technology responsive to individual needs and changing times. It seeks to provide educational opportunities locally, nationally and internationally, to as many students as possible within the limits of state resources and creative resource development.

Whatcom Community College is a comprehensive two-year college serving over 7,000 students. Set on a 63-acre campus, considered by many to be the most picturesque in the state, Whatcom offers transfer degrees and professional training programs , as well as basic education and community education classes.

The Associate of Arts & Sciences degree is designed primarily for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university with junior status.

Associate of Science degree is an efficient, pre-designed educational path for students who wish to complete a baccalaureate program in several science fields. The degree will allow WCC students to enter participating universities with 90 credits, junior standing, and the majority of prerequisites complete. Whatcom also offers 17 professional/technical degrees.

WCC offers a wide range of programs, degrees, and certificates instructed by exemplary faculty. In addition, the courses offered through Community Education provide for additional lifelong learning opportunities. Whatcom is located in Bellingham, WA, conveniently situated between Seattle and Vancouver, BC, as well as nestled between the San Juan Islands and Cascade Mountains. The campus is one of the most beautiful in the state and boasts high-tech resources, including campus-wide wireless access. Student life is active and exciting with numerous student clubs, activities, and sports; there's something for everyone!
