At Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy (CCMT) we believe in the transformational power of massage therapy. We also believe that experiencing the life-enhancing effects of massage first hand, and having a deep awareness and understanding of what massage therapy is about, is the foundation for being able to help others through touch. Core to its mission, CCMT strives to provide comprehensive, professional training in a holistic context. We honor the synchrony of mind-body-heart as we support self-care and personal development.
It is devoted to providing quality educational programs, and have uncompromising standards when it comes to our curriculum, the faculty we hire, and the services we provide to our students, graduates and members of the greater massage therapy community. CCMT is accredited by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA), which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a specialized accrediting agency for massage therapy and bodywork programs and institutions.
CCMT's comprehensive curriculum integrates technique, science and business with extensive hands-on practice. Our courses are academically challenging and professionally up-to-date with customized training manuals. CCMT provides students with many opportunities to gain hands-on experience. All students participate in student clinics, where they provide massage to members of the public in a supervised, clinical setting. Students in selected programs and campus locations can also participate in clinical education experiences in association with Hartford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital, William W. Backus Hospital and The Spa at Norwich Inn.
Supportive guidance and resources are given with care throughout each student's journey. All campuses have fully-stocked libraries with books, professional journals and magazines, audio cassettes and computers with educational DVDs. Tutors, mentors, teaching assistants and study skills workshops are available; thorough preparation for professional practice and licensure is provided. We provide lifetime career resources for graduates including placement assistance, online massage therapist listings, job postings and business consultations.
