USSA Description

The United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama, is an independent, accredited university dedicated to preparing men and women for careers in a variety of sports professions.

The academics offered at the university consist of three degree programs, which are also available online:

  • Bachelor’s of Sports Science
  • Master’s of Sports Science
  • Doctor of Education in Sports Management

Some areas of concentration which you can study include Sports Management, Sports Coaching, Sports Studies and Sports Fitness.

The department of continuing education offers online courses, certificate programs and CEU credits for sports professionals. Some certificate programs consist of Human Performance and Collegiate Compliance, Personal Training and Bodybuilding.

Students may participate in the university’s mentorship program, which allows you to perform on-site training at a sports-related organization based on your career goals. Depending on which organization you choose, you may be paid for your work.

To enroll in a program, applicants must complete an online application form, submit official high school or GED transcripts, a personal statement describing your career goals and motivation and a course-by-course evaluation from an approved educational credential evaluator.

Tuition varies by the program in which you enroll. Financial aid is available to eligible students in a degree-seeking program through Alabama Student Grant and Assistance programs, Pell grants, Stafford loans and SEO grants.
