MCCKS Description

Manhattan Christian College was founded in 1927 and was originally named Christian Workers University as a four-year undergraduate university. Though the name was changed to Manhattan Christian College in 1971, distinctive programs offered at the school became the university’s signature such as offering dual degrees, minors, and bachelors of Arts and Sciences. With different programs and departments to choose from, the overall mission of the school is to prepare students for service and leadership in the name of Christ.

Even though students can choose from different degrees, each student at Manhattan Christian College can render ministry in different fields and contexts. The school’s commitment to biblical principles has allowed Manhattan Christian College to be affiliated with nondenominational Christian churches as well as Churches of Christ of the Restoration Movement.

Manhattan Christian College’s mission and goals are based around a set of core values the school strives for. Along with their commitment to the Christian mission, Manhattan Christian College’s goal is to provide opportunities that will enhance spiritual growth as well as promote the Restoration Movement ideal. No matter the career path each student chooses, Manhattan Christian College encourages students to make a difference for Christ.

Along with this mission, Manhattan Christian College believes in seventeen core values that deal with personal integrity, becoming Christian leaders and promoting trust and responsibility. Some examples of such core values also include maintaining the balance between truth and grace, supporting a collegial work atmosphere, collaborating when making decisions and serving the Church. With these core values, goals and mission of the school, Manhattan Christian College aims to provide personal and educational opportunities to students while devoting practice and time to Christ and the Church.
