UW Platteville Description

Located in a quintessential college town, University of Wisconsin in Platteville boasts a lively college atmosphere. Part of the the University of Wisconsin system, Platteville houses three colleges that offer bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

These include the College of Business, Industry, Life Sciences and Agriculture, the College of Liberal Arts and Education and the College of Engineering, Math and Science.

Many of Platteville’s students live on campus in one of Platteville’s residence halls, some of which are recently built. Living on campus allows students access to the lively college life offered by both the campus and the town.

Downtown Platteville is a typical college of town with lots of activities, taverns, bands, clubs and cafes. Students living on the Platteville campus may also have easier access to the student life on the campus itself, which includes respected NCAA athletic teams as well as student organizations and clubs.

On-campus students may also benefit from the many services offered at Platteville, including tutoring, academic advising, career counseling and financial aid for eligible students.

However, since University of Wisconsin Platteville has been a pioneer in distance education, those not living on campus may find benefits as well. With decades of experience offering distance learning, Platteville grants certain degrees through online study. These include graduate programs in Criminal Justice, Engineering, Project Management and Business, among others.
