Description

Omega Institute of Cosmetology in Houma, Louisiana offers an environment where students may train and gain professional work experience to become successful beauty artists.

Students at Omega Institute may major in cosmetology, nail technology and esthetic arts. Another option is the teacher-training course, which prepares practicing cosmetologists to teach their art at a career or beauty school or college.

All students gain work experience by cutting, styling and coloring hair and offering manicures, pedicures, waxing, facials and other services at the school’s public salon.

Students who wish to attend Omega should be at least 17 years old. Other requirements include proof of citizenship and of a high school diploma or GED, as well as submission of school transcripts.

Financial aid is available to qualifying students to help cover the cost of tuition and possibly other expenses. Loans and grants are some of the sources of aid that may be awarded.
