Penn State Schuylkill provides the academic opportunities of a Penn State Big Ten university with an international reputation in a setting as intimate and comfortable as that of a small college. Located outside Schuylkill Haven in east-central Pennsylvania, Penn State Schuylkill is close to major cities such as Philadelphia, New York,and Washington, D.C.

At Penn State Schuylkill students can complete the first two years of more than 160 Penn State bachelor’s degree programs or earn one of five associate degrees. A select number of baccalaureate degree programs are also available for students who want to earn a bachelor’s degree without leaving Penn State Schuylkill.

It also has a Student to Faculty ratio of 19:1.

Penn State Schuylkill is a Commonwealth Campus of the Pennsylvania State University. It is located in Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. The Schuylkill Campus was originally chartered in 1934 and was located in Pottsville, approximately 6 miles (10 km) north of the current campus. In 1967 the university officially moved to its present location near Schuylkill Haven.
