At Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology (KS) in North Augusta, South Carolina, students learn cosmetology and business skills. KS recognizes that business training goes hand in hand with beauty training.
The school has a Milady Business Fundamentals program that is part of the curriculum and teaches students the business aspects of the cosmetology industry. Also part of the curriculum is preparation for state board licensing exams, and real-world experiences such as beauty competitions and community events and projects.
Academics offered at KS include: Cosmetology, Esthetics, Nail Technology, and Instructor Training. Programs can be completed in under a year for those who attend school full time. For those who attend school part time in the evenings, programs can be completed in less than two years.
All applicants to KS must be at least 17 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent, photo identification, and social security card. One of the great features of the school is its 10-Day Program that allows students to “try before they buy.” College seekers can spend two weeks on campus as a student free of charge, in order to determine if KS will be the right fit for them.
Financial aid in the form of federal sources and institutional scholarships is provided to those who are eligible.
