Description

Beth Medrash Govoha, also known as Lakewood Yeshiva, is one of the largest yeshivas in the world, and attracts both beginning and experienced students of the Torah. Lakewood Yeshiva is a community-oriented institution where students of all academic levels learn together.

Located in Lakewood Township, New Jersey, Lakewood Yeshiva offers a set curriculum, which focuses on such books as the:

  • Talmud
  • Responsa
  • Shulchan Aruch

In addition to classes, Lakewood Yeshiva offers study through small study groups. Students also participate in study sessions throughout the day. Additional learning activities include weekly, mandatory lectures.

Lakewood Yeshiva accepts applications for admissions in the winter and summer. The application process is highly selective. Applicants must fill out a preliminary application and, if approved to move forward, later fill out a second application. Applicants then interview with a faculty member and take tests to determine their knowledge of the Talmud. For information about tuition assistance or financial aid programs, prospective students may contact a Lakewood Yeshiva staff member.
