The mission of National University of Health Sciences is to provide and promote the necessary leadership, management and resources for the advancement of education, new knowledge, outreach, and the ethical practice of the healing arts and sciences as taught within the programs of this university.

National is situated in the best of both worlds - the comfortable suburban village of Lombard and a short drive from the exciting urban offerings of Chicago. NUHS' 35 acre campus is in the heart of suburban Lombard, a quiet, safe, family-oriented suburb. Lombard is known as the "Lilac Village" and welcomes thousands of visitors each year for its two-week "Lilac Time" celebration. Lilacia Park, in the center of historic downtown Lombard is an 8.5 acre park that boasts 200 fragrant varieties of Lilac bushes and 75,000 tulips and spring flowers that offer a floral extravaganza every spring.

Our campus is convenient to Yorktown Center, an enclosed 30-acre shopping mall. Students can also enjoy a movie at an 18-plex cinema, or dine and dance at several restaurant and entertainment establishments nearby, or visit the local roller skating rink or whirly ball court.

        Acupuncture programs provide individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to practice acupuncture. Acupuncture is a Chinese system of healing that seeks to treat health imbalances (Qi) through the use of pulse diagnosis, acupuncture point selection, and needle insertion. This program includes instruction in Chinese medical anatomy and physiology, diagnostic techniques, patient observation and communication, acupuncture points and point selection, auricular and scalp acupuncture, moxibustion, acupuncture technique, acupuncture of extremities, pain management, practice management, and professional standards and ethics.
