Goodwin College School Description

Goodwin College was founded in 1999, having evolved from Data Institute Business School, a career training school that had operated in East Hartford, Connecticut since 1962.

In 2004, the college became a nonprofit organization and received accreditation from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

In 2007, enrollment had increased to over 1,400 students and the college’s nursing program had grown to become the second largest in the state of Connecticut.

The mission of Goodwin College is to educate a culturally diverse student population in an environment that builds bridges between education, commerce, and community. Our degree and certificate programs prepare students for professional careers while encouraging lifelong learning and promoting civic responsibility. As a nurturing college community, we challenge students, administration, faculty, and staff to realize their academic, professional, and personal potential.

When you leave Goodwin College, you will know that you have had an experience that will pave the way to success in a career or in advanced education. But even more, you will leave challenged to leverage those skills towards a life of significance.
